St Edward's Festival 2007

October 13th is the Feast Day of our Patron Saint Edward, King and Confessor. Each year, to mark this occasion, there is a Music and Arts Festival. A variety of local musicians regularly take part in the Festival.

ST EDWARD’S MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL. 12-21 October 2007.

This year’s exhibition: studies and variations in pencil on an Ethiopian Icon theme, by Tony Goble.

Fri 12 Oct. 7.30pm. Patronal Sung Eucharist and Dedication of the new Reredos. Preacher: Ven. Christopher Smith, Archdeacon of Morgannwg.
Sat 13 Oct. 6pm. Opening of Exhibition, with a poetry reading by Paul Henry and a performance of Fauré’s Requiem (St Edward’s Choir & Orchestra) at 7.30pm.
Mon 15 Oct. 7.30pm. South Wales Clarinet Choir.
Tue 16 Oct. 7.30pm. Piano/Violin Trio: Jayne Thomas, Iolo Jones and Arthur Parkes.
Wed 17 Oct. 7.45pm. Cardiff County and Vale of Glamorgan Symphonic Brass.
Thurs 18 Oct. 7.30pm. Scott Baker & Janet Powell: Lute/Guitar/voice – from Elizabethan to Gershwin.
9.45pm. Compline by Candlelight.
Fri 19 Oct. 7.30pm. Early Music: The Cathays Consort.
Sat 20 Oct 7.30pm. Recital: Thomas Morgan (Organ) & Rossini Bartolotti-Hayward (Classical Guitar).
